Hair Donation Experience of Bhavana

Hair Donation Experience of Bhavana :

We came across this beautiful girl who donated her almost waist length hair for Cancer Patients. The astounding and wonderful part is she completely shaved off her hair and donated it. She look pretty in her new look too. The best part is "She did this on the eve of Republic Day wearing Tricolor dress..."

We interviewed her and please find below the experience in her own words...

1. Small intro about you?

My name is Nalkar Bhavana and I am studying Degree second year. Actually I used to donate something every year for the people who are in need. So in the same way I thought to donate my hair this year as like every year.

Obviously my sister (Priyanka Nalkar - actress) she always taught me to help the people who are in need and she is like second mother for me who always thought me Ethics & Morals . At last I donated the hair not for sympathy but I felt in empathy where it actually feels me comfort and satisfaction to me.

2. When this idea of Hair donation struck your mind?

I have seen many cases regarding cancer patients so I thought why not donating hair this year. I was eagerly waiting to donate my hair so immediately after the decision I have donated.

"Greatness is not what you have, it's what you give..."

3. Are you planning for the head shave or a haircut initially when you decided to donate?

No I didn't plan. Initially only I decided to donate my hair but no plan of how short I am gonna go. So I didn't have any plans for hair but after talking with the Hair Donation Organisation people, I decide to go for a clean shave.

4. What was the reaction from your parents and friends when you said about your decision?

They always support me and they appreciated me the way they always do. They were really happy about the deed I have done.

5. How was your reaction after seeing yourself bald for the first time in the mirror? (As you have maintained longhair till then)?

I felt very happy by seeing myself in the mirror without hair. I was thinking about the Cancer Patients who are going to wear my hair and also I was thinking about the happiness. I wish to see the expressions on their faces when they are in front of the mirror wearing a wig (made out of my hair).

6. Usually girls love their hair, how are your feelings during the shave? (What was running in your mind and how was the experience)?

Obviously every girl loves their hair. But when you do a good cause with your hear tand soul, it doesn't effect any other things. My experience is filled with Love and Happiness after donating my hair. I am feeling very happy and also very proud by doing this and also I should help others as much as possible till my last breath.

7. What was the best compliment you for this brave act you did?

My friends told me that they were inspired by me and this was the best compliment for me because being an inspiration is something we achieved in our life.

8. Do you suggest people to take part in hairdonation campaigns? Also do you face any difficulty in being bald (from the people or society)?

Absolutely. I'll suggest to each and everyone to take part in this precious casue. Till now, I didn't face anything because everyone was aware of me and also the cause I did for.

9. Few words about the Organisation through which you have donated your Hair?

"Hope for Life Foundation" is the organisation through which I have donated my hair. This organisation is very helpful and also they are doing their best for cancer fighters by making wigs and donating them. The best part is "The way they received me and the way they treated melted my heart and fell in love with their treatment". They are one of the best organisations I ever heard.

Jai Hind!!!
